International Women's Day 2024: Inspiring Inclusion

Habitat for Humanity Victoria is proud to be working with our corporate partners and volunteers to provide practical support to women and their families in need, as part of our International Women’s Day (IWD) 2024 volunteer program.

Throughout March, we will be joining forces with our corporate partners and dozens of volunteers to transform Benwerren retreat’s existing outdoor area into a picturesque and relaxing haven to promote connection and healing.

Key project deliverables include the installation of shade sails and the creation of a beautiful sensory garden.

Located in the Yarra Valley, Victoria, Benwerren provides a safe space and secure environment for women seeking support to recover, prepare and plan for a brighter future. 

This year’s IWD theme - Inspire Inclusion - encourages us all to recognise the unique perspectives and contributions of women from all walks of life, including those from marginalised communities.

Habitat for Humanity Victoria’s vision for a world where everyone has a decent place to live means promoting a culture of both inclusion and equity where disadvantaged women and their families are empowered and supported to experience housing security.
